This will be our 4th full day in our new apartment. We have gone from living in a 2000 sq ft home to living in a room at my daughter's house to this 1000 sq ft apartment. This has been challenging at best. Most of my things are in storage in Maryland, but a lot of stuff I had already gotten rid of. We have no couch and no dining set. The small dining room is currently box central, where I put the boxes and am going through them as I can. My husband, Paul, is a pack-rat and I fear his boxes will be sitting in the middle of the master bedroom floor a year from now. He won't let me touch his "stuff".
I need to get a set of shelves for one wall in the kitchen to store my baking supplies and appliances. But all in all, the apartment is nice and this complex is pet friendly, which was the decision-maker for us, as we have a black lab, a kitty and an iguana.
So here we are, me, my husband, and my youngest child, Mikey, age 16, trying to get the feel for apartment living.
The first night I learned my upstairs neighbor likes to play their music with a loud bass. Irritating but I guess I will learn to live with it.
Getting the computer set up was good and fast, but getting the TV has been frustrating. The satellite company we went through is still here trying to get it going.
This is my last day of vacation--thank goodness it coincided with our move, so I can be here to pretty much get us settled before I go back to work tomorrow.
